Day 3 – Arrival in Seville

After a smooth train ride (booked easily via [insert affiliate rail link]), we arrived in Seville—a city that practically flirts with you at every sun-drenched street corner. Our stay at Calle Ardilla meant everything was within walking distance… and walk we did!

We strolled around that evening and make our groceries for our home-made breakfast the next day.

Day 4 : Seville Cathedral Magic

Our first mission was Plaza de España. It was a bit of a trek, but we made frequent pit stops in shady gardens along the way. The kids loved playing at the park while I got lost in deciphering Seville’s metro lines (and OOTDs ahakss).

That evening, we visited the Seville Cathedral—and wow, it’s a jaw-dropper. This Gothic masterpiece boasts the longest nave of any cathedral in Spain, soaring up to 42 meters high. The massive choir loft dominates the center, and the intricate Gothic retable tells vivid stories from the life of Christ.

I loved that the builders preserved elements from the mosque that once stood here. The Patio de los Naranjos (Courtyard of the Orange Trees) still offers a serene fountain-filled space for reflection, while the mosque’s minaret became the Giralda Bell Tower, now Seville’s most famous symbol.

Day 5 : Seville Cathedral Magic

The next day, it was time for our pre-booked Royal Alcázar tickets ([insert affiliate link]). This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a breathtaking blend of Islamic, Mudejar, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles. Built by King Pedro I, it’s still an active royal residence.

We wandered through the Prince’s Garden, the Courtyard of the Maidens, and opulent halls dripping with intricate details. Hidden corners like the Baths of Maria Padilla and the shimmering Mercury Pond made us feel like we’d stepped into a storybook.

After lunch, we switched gears with a Guadalquivir River cruise ([insert affiliate link]). For an hour, we floated past Seville’s iconic landmarks—the golden Torre del Oro, the stunning Plaza de España, and charming historic bridges—all from a peaceful, waterside perspective.

Three days in Seville gave us gardens, history, river breezes, and countless family memories. But the real highlight of our Spain adventure was still ahead. Click here for our next stop in Cordoba →
